Year Evaluation

This year I feel that I have improved so much in photography, I now understand how to hold and professionally use a camera whereas at the beginning I had no idea of how to do anything.  At first I thought that photography was going to be easy as all I would have to be doing was taking photographs, when now I know how hard taking a good and professional picture is as there is a lot to think about. I have also learned how much range there is in photography and to be able to be great in all aspects I have had to be really creative which to me is still really hard and I am still improving on. Having never had a photography lesson before this year I have had to take in a lot of information. Personally I found this year difficult but overall enjoyable, I feel that i have done a lot of work but it was all worth it to get the grade I am hoping for. Hopefully next year I will feel a bit more relaxed and have great creative juices flowing and there will be less work so I can really focus on what I want to achieve as this year I felt a bit rushed and that my work wasn't as great as it could have been, however I am still happy with what I did. I loved working on my own throughout the year as I could shoot and do things that I wanted to do. I feel my attendance for this subject has been really good as I have only had a few lessons of for being unwell. What I havent particularly enjoyed about this subject is when I haven't had great idea for what to shoot as I found that my photographs were not as good and I would still have to spend time trying to make them as good I possibly could. When doing the exam I felt I produced some of my best work as it was really creative and after editing it looked great also I only had a small amount of time to get everything done and it turned out great. I think that next year I could use more emotion and imagination to give my photography a different flare and to also try and find what I like doing as my main focusing photography not just for the next year but for years to come. I really enjoyed the contextual work because I was able to look and get ideas off of other great photographers, I also really enjoy writing about what I think even if sometimes I'm not able to say it in the most educated way. Editing I found really repetitive which in one way, to me, is really good as I allow myself more time to think about what to shoot rather than how to edit it. From everything I have learnt this year I feel I can use it in the future and will help me in everything I need to do even if its not mainly photography.
